The Cabell City is a fully surveyed, Sixty (60) Acre Mineral property located in Grant County, Oregon. The property was surveyed and verified in 2021.
The Cabell City is the name for the mills around the La Bellview Mine. The La Bellview Mine portals are located on the Cabell City Property. These are strictly a gold producing property and have no record of other metals production.
The property consists of the La Bellview Mine workings, three (3) excavations. The eastern-most claim contains a large shaft with a dump that measures 60’ x 60’ and 25’-30’ in depth. The material at this shaft is largely iron and quartz with some light stringer gold visible in white quartz in the dumps.
The centermost property contains the largest of the workings, a large cut positioned behind a small crusher mill. There is a house next to the mill that acted as living quarters for the miners and also indicates that the mines were operated by families with wives and children as opposed to just boarding houses with men only.
These workings have the remains of a large shaft, now collapsed, up in the dense forest behind the house and mill. There is a small foot path from this dump to the mill, indicating that at least some ore from the mine came to the mill for work.
Finally, the western property contains a large gravity mill, examination by surveyors estimate a 75-100 ton per day, crush, shake and separation process. There is also a homestead near the mill and a barn or shed for machinery. The shaft referred to above, was likely what was feeding this mill as there is a long overgrown two track wagon road that leads from the shaft to the mill.
The old mines contain nearly identical dump material, heavy with iron and quartz, the quartz is white and contains bits of auriferous pyrite and free gold.
There is running water on the property, this could be utilized for operations or for drinking water if properly treated. Riparian rights apply to water and timber.
No permitting is included or implied.
