We base this attribution on the same medium, style, subject, complexity, and signature as used by Caillebotte. Medium: Oil on canvas. Condition: Very good overall appearance with some aging in the paint. Edition: Unique original work of art. Signature: Lower right. Size: 15.5 x 23.5 in. Provenance: From the private estate of a long time art collector. He purchased this from a Charleston SC auction house in the 1990's. According to the consignor this fine painting has not undergone an expert authentication certification process,
hence is being sold as manner of the artist.
Gustave Caillebotte was a French painter who was a member and patron of the Impressionists, although he painted in a more realistic manner than many others in the group. Caillebotte was known for his early interest in photography as an art form.
