Lead Dec. 10, 1921 Warren G. Harding Signed Letter
Description
Beckett Letter of Authenticity. Guaranteed Authentic. Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States of America, has signed this typed letter in black ink. The letter is addressed to Walter E. Edge, a Senator from New Jersey from 1919 to 1929 and the state's governor from 1917 to 1919 and again from 1944 to 1947. The letter thanks Edge for "the package of birds which you were so thoughtful to send to me." The birds in question are presumably poultry or game birds, as Harding continues "I would have been more than pleased to have joined you in consuming them," and includes hopes that the two politicians could soon have a conference together on current affairs. The letter, dated Dec. 10, 1921, has a "The White House - Washington" header and is mounted onto a light brown piece of heavy paper. Accompanying the letter is a portrait image of Harding that bears his black facsimile signature; this piece is also mounted onto paper. Both pieces display a favorable manner of appearance, with note to light, wholly tolerable age-toning on the letter. The letter comes with an LOA from Beckett for Harding's signature. Harding passed away in 1923 at the age of 57.
