"In 1971, brothers Ward and Don Mayborn opened Uncommon Market and were joined by Ward's son, Scott, in the 80s. Uncommon Market became known as a unique store that offered an eclectic selection of antiques and unique items. Many of our items furnished national restaurant chains, retail stores, and residences during the early years. Those days were special.
Since the store has been in business for over 50 years, we've amassed a large inventory of quality and unique European Antiques, Collectibles, and Lighting. As the years have come, the availability of items has become increasingly harder to find in our traditional ways of searching. With that slowing down for us we noticed that we began pivoting towards fabrication. We always restored our antique pieces and began to fabricate quality pieces for both residential and commercial clients.
Because of our success with fabrication, we've decided to make a change to close our brick-and-mortar footprint and liquidate our inventory. Going forward we will only focus on our high-quality fabrication and continue to make the pieces you all are familiar with. Find us online as we increase our presence!"
