Lead 1948 WURLITZER JUKEBOX MODEL 1100
Description
Wurlitzer Model 1100 1948 jukebox full with 45 RPM classics. Jukebox lights up, runs and selects records you can hear the needle playing however in transport to our auction rooms a wire or something has come loose and doesn’t amplify through the speakers. Sold as is All lights up mechanically sound with very nice condition plastic casings with wood cabinet in overall very nice condition. Wurlitzer Model 1100 features brilliant multi-coloured lights which rotate within the pilasters creating an impressive light show. Another interesting feature of this machine is the rotating song selector, which nestles within an elegant chrome housing and reflects the lights as the jukebox plays. Nicknamed ‘The Bullet’ and following hot on the heels of the iconic 1015 came the Wurlitzer 1100, which is often said to be one of the prettiest jukeboxes ever made. Its nickname derives from the overall shape, which rises to a subtle point in the center and resembles a bullet stood on its base. The Wurlitzer 1100 Jukebox was produced from 1947 to 1949 and its appearance is indicative of the move away from 1940’s art deco design to the more modern look favoured in the 1950s. This was one of the first models where the plastic dome over the record player was large enough to reveal the full working mechanism below. It boasts an impressive 15 " speaker paired with a tube type ‘push pull’ amplifier. This pre 50’s jukebox would look and sound great in any mancave or just in the family living area where you can enjoy hits from yester year. May require a small service and a hertz converter installed, which can be arranged through John Ellis a long time repairer of jukebox’s in Victoria. A step down transformer will be included in the sale.
