About the Artist:
Sean Nathan Ricks is a Utah-based artist living in cache valley Utah, one of Utah's highest alpine valleys. He has been an artist for more than 30 years, following in the footsteps of his mother and grandmother who are also professional artists. Sean is fond of saying you have to suffer to be an artist, to date he has survived open-heart surgery, knee surgery, and two ear surgeries leaving him deaf in his left ear. Sean has also been shot, stabbed, had eight concussions, and survived jumping into a malfunctioning carnival ride to save two young girls. All of these experiences have added depth and breadth to Sean's paintings. He is an avid art historian constantly exploring the methodology of masters such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Monet. The products of his education and study can be seen in the variety of paintings he produces.
