Antique 22" tall cast iron andirons / firedogs look like they might have come out of a castle with their big cannonball finials. In great working condition, we see no breaks in the cast iron. Also an antique metal coal hod / scuttle, great for storing fire starters / matches / small kindling etc. The andirons are almost 2 feet tall.

Artist Hiroshi Yoshida was born in 1876 and passed away in 1950. Was a Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker. Kinkaku, the subject of the print, is also called the Temple of the Golden Pavilion or Deer Garden Temple. It was located in Kyoto, Japan. This print was made in 1933 and 17 years later the temple was burned to the ground by a 22 year old monk, and then rebuilt in 1955.

Rare, hard to find sign advertising Magnolia Petroleum Company GASOLINE. There are quite a few similar signs out there that advertise the company's motor oil. The double sided gasoline signs were used on the old roadside service stations. Magnolia Petroleum had its beginnings in 1911 in Corsicana, Texas, about 20 miles from the auction house here in Frost. Standard Oil Company acquired Magnolia later but kept the brand operating as is. In 1959 Mobil Oil bought Magnolia and the brand was ended.

Thatchers Liver and Blood Syrup Sample size bottle would have been given away or sold very cheap perhaps in a traveling medicine show or by a traveling salesman. Dark honey amber color. We see no chips or cracks. Embossed Dr Thatcher's Liver and Blood Syrup on front, Chattanooga, Tenn on side panel, and SAMPLE on other side panel. About 3 inches tall or so. There are some sort of markings on the base but cannot make them out. Bottle is BIMAL, ie blown in mold with applied lip. Probably circa 1880-1910.

There is an ERTL 1917 Maxwell Touring Car, a 1939 Dodge Airflow made by ERTL, and a Texaco Texas Company horses and tanker wagon. These pieces were all produced in the 1990s.

Austin Texas produced book by Herman Topperwein also spelled Toeperwein or Toepperwein. The Topperwein family were famous shooters / marksmen in Texas and did Wild West shows and shooting expositions back in the day. This book is about gunfights and gunfighters, great read and a rare find. Hardcover with dust jacket. Madrona Press Austin Texas. Herman Toepperwein went to Texas A&M and had law practices across Texas, WW2 veteran of the Navy, Pacific theater, and he was a cousin of the famous Admiral Chester Nimitz.

The historic Waco suspension bridge over the Brazos River was completed in 1870 and used as part of the Chisholm Trail cattle drives. At that time it was the longest bidge of its kind west of the Mississisppi River. Here it is featured in a limitied edition art print #163 of 1000 from a painting by artist Donald F. Mitchell who signed and numbered the print which features a cowboy on horse back in the foreground. The artwork is entitled "Across the Brazos". Framed under glass, measures 31x23 inches. Donald F Mitchell was born in 1916 and passed away in 2000. Perhaps best known for his artwork depicting historic places and buildings, particulary in the Dallas Texas area.

Old green felt hat is a little out of shape, box is still in pretty nice condition. box is about 4 inches wide, hat 3 inches. Hat box says Season's Greetings on top, so it might also have been an advertising / sign premium given to customers by store owners. Stetson Company was started in 1865 just after the Civil War, when John Stetson made himself a hat to go on an expedition out west and liked it so well that he decided to mass produce it and sell it to like minded adventurers.

Vintage decanter, underplate, and 6 shot glasses, made of porcelain with dragon motif. Inside each of the shot glasses in the bottom is a rounded clear glass "marble". Looking into them with no liquid you don't see much of anything but when you add clear liquid (sake or water), you can see risque women in the bottom of the cups some in swimsuits some totally nude. The manufacturer's mark is a red dragon on phoenix with the letters .CHK. We have not been able to identify the mark. There is a scratch on the paint finish of the underplate. Porcelain over metal sign is 12 inches tall 8 inches wide. The Flying Tigers were a group of volunteer American airmen who flew in the Republic of China Air Force during World War 2 to oppose the terrible Japanese invasion there. They were composed of pilots from US Army Air Corps, US Navy, and US Marine Corps. They flew a Curtiss P-40B Warhawk airplane.

Frame not included if shipped. This is a large 14x10 photograph (not 8x10) signed by Lyle with a paint pen. Has hologram tag on reverse which matched a certificate of authenticity that has been misplaced. Lyle is a Texas grass roots country and western music artist from Houston who has recorded some 25 albums.

He conracted with Red Wing, Shawnee, and Gondor potteries to help produce and sell his designs. He passed away in 1943. This vase is circa 1930s. The taller 8.5" turquoise vase with ruffled top and lobed base is numbered on the bottom #935. It falls into Camark's numbering system and looks like Camark to us but we have not been able to find another example to compare it to, possibly a rare piece.

Antique oak card file cabinet signed with tag Macey-Wernicke tag. Macey Wernicke company was only in existence from 1905 to 1907. Wernicke company was formed in the 1890s as was the Macey Furniture Co. In 1905 they merged and sold products under their combined name of Macey-Wernicke for only 2 years after which the company did business as The Macey Company until 1940 when it closed. Wernicke moved on to from what became Globe-Wernicke and sued Macey for patent infringement.

Antique primitive stoneware pickle jar marked in blue cobalt Price-Booker Mfg Co, San Antonio Texas. We believe the crock may have been made by Meyer pottery which was located in or near San Antonio and opened in 1887. Price Booker was a food distributor in Texas out of Houston and San Antonio and shipped their goods over the "new" 1880s 90s Texas railroads to every little railroad town in the state including right here in Frost Texas. This crock likely contained pickles or other preserved food. It is 10 inches tall. See photos for condition, has chips, but it is a piece of Texas history.

Huge, approximately 18 inches tall, 5 gallon moonshine stoneware crock jug from the defunct Love Field Potteries in Dallas Texas. This pottery opened in 1923 ar or near the Love Field air base, just north of downtown Dallas. It closed in 1948 3 years after WW2 came to a close. These are very old colonial style miniature highly detailed intricately painted porcelain figurines made in Germany. Perhaps meant to be children's toys. They have some numbers on them as well, not sure what the numbers mean. These list for about $25 per figure on the Bay.
