Fantastic "Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory" original poster by the famous Rick Griffin artist of the Berkeley Bonaparte Company Berkeley, CA. Marked #101on the bottom right corner and dated 1967 Richard "Rick" Griffin was an American artist and one of the forefront creaters of psychedelic posters in the 1960s. Griffin was part of the surfing culture of Southern California and after high school, he worked on Surfer magazine and created a surfing cartoon character called Murphy. His work appeared regularly in various magazines and was closely identified with the Grateful Dead posters and album covers such as Aoxomoxoa. In 1967 he moved to San Francisco, Griffin, teamed with others as founders of Berkeley Bonaparte, a company that created and marketed psychedelic posters. Griffin began combining eclectic typefaces and decorative borders with brilliant colors in his concert posters. Griffin's compositions were quite complex. Griffin often applied dozens of overlays and redrew lettering over and over again until he was satisfied. Sometime in the early 1970s, Griffin became a born-again Christian and his work circled around religious themes. Griffin continued to create great pieces of art until his untimely passing from a motorcycle accident in 1991. Poster is in very good condition. Poster has been professionally framed. One of Gibson's most unique (and smallest) instruments, the UB-1 Banjo Ukulele (Banjolele) was actually not a novelty instrument and was meant to fit in with mandolins and other, similar stringed instruments. Made of a dark stained maple, with a rosewood fingerboard, this model also includes a maple resonator, giving such a small banjo surprising projection. At 20 Inches, it is not much bigger than a standard soprano uke. This UB-1 is original in all respects, with the possible exception of the strings. The pot has an exterior dimension of 6.5 inches and takes a 6 inches skin head. There is a significant crack in the pot, running laterally around the rim where the brackets are attached to the wood. A competent luthier should be able to repair the rim without serious issues. The Banjo comes with what looks to be an original black cardboard case. DPG

Anderson was the original lead singer of the group leaving after the band cut their debut album, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off. Edward Hopper (American, 1882-1967) Early Sunday Morning, c. 1930. This Gibson Tenor Banjo, could be an outstanding find for the discriminating musician. Built in late 1925, this Gibson model TB-0 banjo, has a factory order number of 8176-23. The TB-0 was one of Gibson's most iconic banjos. It was a basic model that featured all of the Gibson quality without adornment. Every part of this banjo appears to be original, including the head. All parts are in good working order. The fingerboard is rosewood, the frets are in very good condition and do not look overly worn. The neck markings are round dots, with inlaid abalone. The neck and the peg head are in excellent condition, with no wear seen on the back of the neck. The pot, is in very good antique condition, with a lovely dark stain and no wear marks. There is a crack that has developed in the wood on the outside of the pot, just below the fitting for the tension hooks. The crack appears to be superficial, it does not go through the wall and should be easy to repair. All of the fittings are chromed steel and feature only minor oxidization in places. There is an original "The Gibson" trademark on the inside of the ring, in good condition, it is easy read. There are two inscriptions on the inside of the head, they are possibly the two previous owners of this banjo. On inscription reads,"Eugene M. Gasey -1926-", the other inscription is a signature, "Charles Wilson". The banjo comes with what could very well be the original case. The case is cardboard and shows signs of its age. DPG

This soprano ukulele, by the C. F. Martin Co. was made sometime in the mid-1950's. It comes with Waverly tuning pegs, and the Martin stamp inside of the use without the "Made in America" addition. Made from mahogany and in excellent overall condition, this uke has a beautifully crisp, round tone. There is some light crazing of the varnish on the front, with a small crack forming from the bridge, running toward the butt of the uke. There is also a small scratch on the back os the uke, and some noticeable wear on the finger board from use. The celluloid binding has yellowed somewhat (expected with an instrument of this vintage), but the binding is free from cracks or missing segments. The ukulele comes without a case. DPG

Date: March 10, 1908 Dimensions: 108" x 59" This substantial and detailed map, created by cartographer Howard Platt, C.E., captures the Little Chief Mining Company and its adjoining claims located on Fryer Hill in Leadville, Colorado. The map, measuring 108 inches in length and 59 inches in width, is printed on heavy, thick paper with a linen backing. It meticulously outlines the area, entrances, names, elevations, and levels of the mines, providing a comprehensive view of this significant mining region during the early 20th century. Has been stored rolled and does show some signs of aging such as creasing and foxing, however, the map remains in very good condition. Its clarity and depth make it an exceptional representation of antique mining cartography, making it an invaluable piece for collectors and historians interested in Colorado's rich mining heritage and cartographic history. Measuring 72" x 58" and backed on linen, it features vibrant coloring despite some light foxing, a couple of minor stains, creasing, and very small edge tears. 1919 Leadville National Forest Map, Colorado Publisher: U.S. Geological Survey Date: 1919 Dimensions: 29" x 17" This historically significant 1919 map of the Leadville National Forest in Colorado, printed by the U.S. Geological Survey, features detailed annotations including the Colorado, New Mexico, and Sixth Principal Meridians. The map is a product of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service under Henry S. Graves, noted forester and Chief of the United States Forest Service from 1910 to 1920. Graves was a key figure in American forestry, co-founding the Yale Forest School, the oldest continuous forestry school in the United States. Measuring 29 inches by 17 inches, the map was originally stored folded and its vibrant, clear coloring has been well-preserved. It exhibits minor wear including pinhole damage at the fold centers and a half-inch tear at the top within the border section, which does not affect the map imagery. This color lithograph map, titled "The Leadville Mining District," was compiled by Charles F. Saunders and published by Denver Litho Co. in January 1901. Measuring 49" x 32", the map offers a detailed depiction of the extensive mining operations in Leadville, Colorado, during a period of significant growth in the state's mining history. Despite being graded in fair to poor condition due to past water damage and some tearing and separation from its linen backing, the map’s vibrant coloring remains intact, making it easy to read. It highlights mining claims with survey numbers, company groups, gulches, tunnels, and range townships, and even includes a plat map of Leadville. Certain mines are distinctly colored, and the index in the lower left corner lists mine owners keyed to section numbers. The map is scaled at 1200 feet to the inch. Ideal for framing and preservation, this map is a valuable piece of historical cartography, offering a significant glimpse into Colorado's mining history and the early 20th-century documentation of these operations. This is a very large antique map, measuring 9' x 5', created on thin, fibrous paper, most likely vellum. It features colorful sections that delineate various areas of the Leadville mining region. Some of the notable mines mentioned on the map include Stray Horse, Emme, Bullion, Little Pittsburg, and Little Chief. In my experience, this type of thin paper was often used like tracing paper, where a general plan was copied, and additional surveys were later added. An incredible piece of history, this map offers a fascinating look into Leadville's rich mining past. GE

This large 1908 vellum map of the Little Chief Mine is nearly identical to the linen-backed map in Lot 126. Rendered in color, it showcases detailed survey work from the Leadville mining area. These vellum maps were likely used as working copies, designed to be easily carried into the mine for on-site adjustments during surveying. The map measures 91" x 55" and has a distinct seam through the middle, along with a 6" tear on the left side edge. A remarkable historical artifact from Colorado's mining era. GE

The Buddha rests on a solid wooden base, gilded in gold, measuring 12" long, 9" deep, and 3" high, further enhancing its presence. The lamp operates with twin bulbs, each controlled by individual pull chains. At the top, a polished brass Chinoiserie finial complements the brass neck, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design. The total height of the lamp is an impressive 35". A standout feature is the large gold-gilded lampshade, measuring 14" tall, 16" wide, and 12" deep, which matches the gilded base. This 21" Victorian Vaseline Opalescent 7 Horn Epergne, dating from circa 1850-1899, features a beautiful multi-color base. The Epergne is an ornamental centerpiece typically used for a dining table, designed to hold fruit in the lower bowl and flowers in the 7 unique horn vases, each capable of holding water. The largest vase screws into the brass part of the centerpiece, while the other six horns pop into solid brass fittings. Although one horn has a repaired break and two have been replaced with white milk glass horns, the overall look is still fantastic, especially considering the piece is over 125 years old. It stands 21" tall and measures 13" x 12" wide with the horns.
